Green Thread and Needles

I have a question for you. It seems that what I’m finding on etsy is a lot of patterns. Is it not feasible/profitable to sell finished cross stitch? Does anyone buy it? How can you be sure your pattern hasn’t already been done? I’m relatively new so I wouldn’t be making…

I’m just starting to sell stuff on etsy. Before I sold most of my items at crafts show and cons and did very well so there is a market. But I sell smaller items such as pins, magnets and types of jewelry. I am planning to put up some larger items, but I will be selling them for $60-$100 so we’ll see how that goes. As for patterns… I can honestly say I haven’t bought a pattern in years. I don’t see the point, there are so many free (and legal) options. And any patterns I make I tend to let out for free. =/

Yes, this is happening to me too. Most of the time I just refresh and it starts loading again… but it’s not doing it now. =/ Very odd.

Does anyone know any good places to get antique and public domain cross-stitch patterns ?

Due to the fact that I am still unemployed and have bills coming up I decided to open up commissions. I offer a wide range of things I do so make sure to check them out. ^.^

Photo cross-stich
I can turn photographs into cross-stitch patterns. I can do anything from videogames, art, photography, ect. The higher quality the photo the better pattern that can be made.
After you send me the picture, I will make a pattern out of it and show it to you. If you are happy with it I will send you payment information. Once payment is recived I will begin on the cross-stitch.
If you have art you want turned into a pattern make sure it’s your own art or that you got permission from the artist. Thanks!

Prices vary depending on size and complexity.

50 Wide $50-$70
Roughly 2.5”Smallest size I offer. Not all photos will transfer into patterns in this size. Close up and minimal detail works the best.

100 Wide $75-$100
Roughly 5” Good medium size. Looks good in a frame. Most pictures transfer nicely into the size.

150 Wide $100-$150
Roughly 7.5” Largest size I offer at the moment. Good size for higher detail. Most pictures look good in this size.

Pixel to cross-stitch.
I can turn almost any pixel art into a cross-stitch pattern. But if you are interested is this, the pixel art must be yours that you made or something you commissioned. I can’t use others peoples art to profit off of. Sorry. Unless it’s a videogame sprite. Such as pokemon.

Due to the wide variety of pixel people do prices will vary depending on difficulty and size. Please send me the pixel you wish to have done and I will give you a quote. See below for price estimates.

Small 35x35 and smaller- $15-$25 Shipping Free
Mini pixels and icons. Can be turned into pins, key-chains, and magnets. Or comes in small wooden loop frame ready to hanged. (ask about colors!)

Medium  50x50 to 70x70- $35-$45 Shipping Free
Classic icons and slightly bigger pixels. Can be turned into larger pins and magnets. Or comes in a small wooden hoop frame ready to be hanged. (ask about colors!)

Large  80X80 to 150X150-  $50-$100 Shipping $5 no frame, $10 Framed
Dolls and larger pixel arts. Due to the size of these patterns. The finished project will be done on cloth ready to be framed. -I offer framing! See below-

Huge  200x200 and larger- $100+   Shipping $5 no frame, $10 Framed
Large pixel arts. Due to size and difficultly I will be more picky in doing this commissions. Feel free to ask about larger pixels though. ^^

Payment info. All payments must be made through paypal.

How to order a commission.
-Send me a note labeled “Quote” or “Commission” with the pixel you want done. You may send me more the one pixel if you are just interested in prices for any of them.
-Once we have decided on a pixel and prices, I will send you the payment info. Once I have received my payment I will start on your cross-stitch.
-I need to have payment in advance since I have had people back out once I have started on a projects. I can’t afford that sadly.
-I DO NOT take refunds once I have started a project. If you change your mind before I have started anything you are more then welcome to request a refund.
-I will post pics of WIPS so you can see the progress of your commission. This is for the larger projects only. The small ones only take me a day or two to do so I don’t post WIPS.

FRAMING IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. Just moved and am still hunting around for some good thrift stores for frames.
FRAMES! I do framing for all projects. I collect old, funky, and vintage frames from thrift stores and yard sales. If you are interested in one for your commission just ask. Prices vary.
